2015 up-spec for Toyota SA's Yaris range

Wheels24 reported in 2014 that Toyota's compact Yaris range had received a comprehensive mid-life make-over - now it's having another!

It's June 2015and Toyota is building on its upgraded local Yaris with all derivatives benefiting from leather-clad steering wheels and gearshifter knobs.

Fog lights with chromed bezels have been fitted to all units from the entry-level one-litre to the top-of-the-range hybrid.

LOADS OF KIT

All derivatives also now have daytime running lights (LED's for the Hybrid), power windows and the latest Toyota touchscreen multimedia system (with Bluetooth) standard.

Standard kit includes 15" alloy rims, fob-operated central locking (remember to double-check any car with such a function in shopping-centre car parks!), aircon, steering-wheel controls, dual front and side crash bags and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-pressure distribution and emergency pressure assistance.

The Hybrid adds:

  • Combination leather and cloth upholstery
  • Reversing camera
  • Seven crash bags, including one for the driver's knees
  • Traction and stability control
  • Stop/start
  • LEDs
  • Hybrid badging

Petrol models are sold with a three-year or 45 000km service plan, the Hybrid four years or 60 000km. The Hybrid has an eight-year or 195 000km warranty on the battery in addition to the standard three years or 100 000km.
