• 112kW 1.4 MultiAir turbo engine

The new Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint has been created to commemorate a key moment in Alfa Romeo’s heritage: the 60th anniversary of the launch of the original Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint in 1954.
It was a car that struck a chord with the public, Alfa says, "through its stunning looks and relative affordability that turned us from a low-volume specialist manufacturer to a successful premium car brand"
UNIQUE FEATURES
Like the original, the 2015 version also has an engine of less than 1400cc in capacity but one with MultiAir valve management and an intercooled turbocharger to make it more than twice as powerful, at 112kW/250Nm, as its forebear's 1.3 twin-cam.
That translates to 100km/h in 8.2sec, 208km/h, a claimed average fuel consumption of 5.7 litres/100km and CO2 emissions of 131g/km.
Other unique features include new 17", five-hole design alloy rims, special badging on the front wings, carbon-effect door panels and facia surround, sport leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and Recaro-style seats with cloth and Alcantara-upholstery, red stitching and a Sprint logo embroidered into each head restraint.
Other enhancements include sports rear bumper skirts and dark-tinted windows. The price in the UK starts at R368 000, rising with the addition of options and a Progression version, but among them are dynamic control, 13cm touchscreen with DAB radio, Bluetooth, voice commands, SMS reader, USB port, music streaming and six speakers, front foglights, aircon, diode daytime running lights, diode rear lights, power windows and external mirrors, rear spoiler and sports instruments with white illumination, multifunctional display and trip computer.
EXTRA-COST OPTIONS
Also available are carbon-effect facia and door panels, model-specific mats, six airbags, plus darkened interior headlining ABS + ASR + EBD + EBA) + Hill Holder, electronic Q2 differential, remote locking with deadlocks and immobiliser.
Extra-cost options include special paint, double sunroof, bi-xenon headlights, parking senors with screen display, cruise control, aluminium pedals, a larger touchscreen that adds an infotainment system and satnav and finally a Bose 10-speaker audio system.
