Cape Town - It’s only 30 days until the FIA World Rallycross of South Africa comes to Killarney International Raceway in Cape Town.
The World RX of South Africa will see the world’s best rallycross drivers in their RX Supercars, with over 447kW, delivering wheel-to-wheel heats and a final on a specially constructed, mixed asphalt-and-dirt surface.
Tickets still available
Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson will arrive in South Africa with the World RX title already in the bag after his win in Latvia earlier in October but there’ll still be plenty to race for in the final championship event of the season with such a high class field, including Sebastian Loeb, Mattias Ekstrom and Ken Block. Former world champion Petter Solberg of Norway will be hoping to make the trip to Cape Town after sustaining injuries in a crash in Riga on October 6.
The historic Killarney circuit hasn’t hosted such a group of superstar international drivers since the likes of Stirling Moss and Jim Clark raced there in the 1960’s and new, enhanced spectator viewing areas have been built specially for the occasion. There’s also a full programme of entertainment and action lined up in addition to the rallycross showpiece.
2014 and 2015 World RX champion Solberg said: "I expect South Africa to become a fantastic event. What more would a motorsport loving crowd want than a full World RX display of the roughest and fastest cars on the planet racing each other? I will for sure be there fighting for the season finale win! "
Some categories of passes have sold out but tickets for the World RX of SA from 10-12 November 2017 are still available at www.ticketpro.co.za.
