France to host traditional Peugeot 308 racing cup action

France - The new Peugeot 308 Racing Cup is a core feature of the brand’s promotional ladder for its circuit racing customers.

Included in France’s Championnat de France des Circuits FFSA package and in addition to the Rencontres Peugeot Sport series, it fits with the other competitions for which the car is eligible, including the TCR, VLN and 24H Series.

The new car fits in the new-look entry and the list of drivers registered for the year’s opening clash features the one-make championship regulars and newcomers, including non-French drivers, who have been drawn by the Peugeot 308 Racing Cup promise of fun.

Easter weekend racing

At the end of the year, the winner of the race will walk away with a new Peugeot 308, equipped with a 2018-spec Performance Kit, along with a factory drive with Peugeot in 2018 with a view to continuing their career at international level.

“We were delighted to see Team Altran Peugeot score a one-two finish with the 308 at the 12 Hours of the Red Bull Ring – which was a round of the 24H Series – while Team Autohaus NettMotorsport came second in the second round of the VLN.

“We are now looking forward to seeing all the 308 Racing Cups in action within the framework of the exciting new SRO-organised Championnat de France des Circuits FFSA series."

Laurent Guyot, manager of customer competition programme, said: “The 308 Racing Cup has all the makings of being a very competitive championship. A number of RCZ Racing Cup regulars have been joined by a number of talented French and non-French drivers and youngsters.

“It’s great to see 17 cars registered for Nogaro. The figure would no doubt have been even higher but our priority has been on the quality of our finished cars. We believe we will exceed the 20 mark very soon.

Curtain raiser

“The calendar has six rounds, five within the framework of the Championnat de France des Circuits FFSA series and the sixth as a curtain-raiser ahead of July’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps which will clearly be the highlight of the season.”
