JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA, Spain - Jorge Lorenzo of Spain (Yamaha) was fastest here after the first two free practice sessions on Friday for Sunday's Spanish MotoGP.
Lorenzo, the reigning World champion, was 0.142sec ahead of fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa (Honda) and 0.171sec faster than Cal Crutchlow of Britain (also Yamaha).
Rookie Marc Marquez, the reigning Moto2 champion and current MotoGP championship leader, alongside Lorenzo, following his victory at the GP of the Americas in Austin, Texas, two weeks earlier.
