Ogier well ahead in Portugal

FARO, Portugal – 2013 World Rally championship leader Sebastien Ogier of France extended his lead in the Rally of Portugal on Saturday (April 13) to 34.8sec over VW team mate Jari-Matti Latvala of Finland into the final day.

The rally is being run in the very south of Portugal.

Finnish Citroen driver Mikko Hirvonen is third and 1min08.5 off the lead as he bids for this first World title at the age of 32.

10th WIN IN SIGHT

Ogier, 29, opened the season with second in the Monaco rally then won in Sweden and Mexico and is now within range of a 10th career win.

Defending champion Sebastien Loeb is only driving in a limited number of races and his run of nine consecutive World titles is set to come to an end.
