SA racer Jeffrey Kruger doubled his win tally in India when he netted another victory on August 11 in the 2013 Polo R Cup series.
The Johannesburg based competitor is currently contesting the South African and Indian versions of the series.
The youngster made started his international title aspirations by claiming second place in the opening round of the series, held at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore in July 2013.
IMPRESSIVE FIGHT
Kruger qualified on the front row behind Prashanth Tharani on pole for Race 1. Despite his best efforts he could not pass Tharani who went on to win with Kruger holding second.
Race 2 started with the first eight finishers from heat one in reverse grid order, which left Kruger on the seventh slot. A fast starting Rahil Noorani, who finished Race 1 in third scooted ahead from from 6th to first in two laps, holding on to win the race.
Kruger made steady progress through the race and held station in second place. Post-race Noorani received a 20-second penalty, which pushed him down to seventh. This promoted Kruger to the podium, which he shared with Prashanth Tharani and Yatin Magu.
Kruger said: “I was extremely happy with my performance over the weekend, which included the fastest lap in Race 1 and enjoyed the wheel to wheel action in Race 2.
“Once again it was an honour to be on the top step of the podium.”
