JOHANNESBURG, Gauteng - The USA’s Super Nationals XVIII Superkarts event, billed as “Race of the Year” and also “the pinnacle karting event of the year”, takes place in Las Vegas November 19-23 – with a South African entry in the mix. Ewan Taylor will compete in this high octane event running under the Energy Corse/ Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism banner.
Christine Moss, who runs the Energy Corse racing kart brand in Africa, said: “The Las Vegas event is an opportunity for Taylor to be challenged as a kart racer, to learn and push himself to be all he can be as a motorsport competitor.
“Taylor's growth in karting over the past two years, both regionally and nationally, sees him lining up at Super Nationals XVIII this week in arguably the world's biggest karting event – against more than 600 racers from around the globe, all whom are gunning for a place in history, as one of the nine winners to be crowned.”
'RACE OF THE YEAR'
The SuperKarts! Super Nationals XVIII event takes place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino with the field competing for one of the nine winning places, decided over five days of racing with the final taking place on 'Super Sunday'.
SuperKarts! USA CEO Tom Kutscher said: “There is more than the equivalent of R1.1-million in cash and prizes that will be awarded. Every year the best kart racers from around the world put on a phenomenal show here in Las Vegas, no matter their class of competition.
"Once again we are expecting the Super Nationals to be the race of the year.”
In addition to competition at the USSK XVIII event, Energy Corse will also release a mobile app, supported and created in conjunction with Appovation from Nelson Mandela Bay. The app will go live in the iStore and the Google Play store November 19 during the Las Vegas event, providing access to and assistance for the international Energy Corse racing kart community across 34 countries.
Moss believed it to be the first of its kind. She said: “There are even more plans for 2015.
