Pretoria - Public entries for the seventh running of the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb are open from December 1 2015. The 2015 Simola Hillclimb takes place in the Garden Route town of Knysna, Western Cape from 6-8 May 2016.
It's the earliest that public entries have opened in the event’s history and stems from the huge demand for places on the starting grid.
With entries limited to 60 for Classic Car Friday and 84 cars for the King of the Hill category, it is sure to be oversubscribed as was the case for the 2015 Jaguar Simola Hillclimb.

The 2016 entry procedure has seen a change in procedure; the event will feature a two-stage entry process and is now an invitational, rather than following the normal, local motorsport procedure.
Stage one saw invitations sent out in November 2015 to competitors that have previously competed in all events, past winners and a few special guests. If completed by the end of November competitors are guaranteed entry.
The second stage is the public participation process that begins in December 1 2015 and closes on February 5 2016. Aspiring competitors are requested to lodge an expression of intent to enter via the online portal at www.jaguarsimolahillclimb.co.za.
Applicants will be considered by the organisers who will then issue an invitation by February 12 2016.
