The Mother(City) of all races

It's been six months since the WesBank Super Series was previously held in the Western Cape and fans will not be disappointed as the action returns to Killarney on March 31 2012 in the Bridgestone Production Car championship.

The turbo Class T field will see rivals Ford, VW and Opel try to best each other. Ford's Gary Formato and Shaun Duminy (Ford Focus ST) will be local favourites as well as VW GTI drivers Graeme Nathan and Jacques Joubert.

Michael van Rooyen (Opel Astra OPC), who has had a torrid start to the season, will be desperate for points at Killarney. Gennaro Bonafede (GTI) is a consistent front-runner and has the knack of being in the right place at the right time.

Victory could go to any of these drivers but local stars Armien Levy (GTI) and Brett Roach should not be discounted. Levy’s knowledge of the track is unsurpassed and if Roach can stay out of trouble he may well be a contender, especially in the second race which will begin from a part-reversed grid.

BRING OUT BIG GUNS

The BMW team will debut its new F30 race cars with Etienne van der Linde and Anthony Taylor and the Killarney crowd is likely to offer lots of support to Johan Fourie (Audi S4), who will take to the track after missing the first round of the championship.  Veteran cape town racer Deon Joubert will add local flair and is likely to get fans feeling nostalgic when he takes to the track in Taylor's (now discarded) E90 BMW with which he won recently at Zwartkops.

Go, Deon!

Michael Stephen and Tschops Sipuka will be looking for victory in their Audi S4s while fending off challenge from Hennie Groenewald and Richard Pinard, each in a Subaru WRX STI.

Melvill Priest (Audi S4) had some teething problems at Zwartkops while newcomers Kishoor Pitamber and John Mayer will have to get to grips with learning a new circuit behind the wheel of their BMW's.

Neither of these technicalities will plague Nieyaaz Modack (Audi A4), however, who recently won at the circuit in a Clubmans race.
