Italian racing driver Michela Cerruti and her black and pink Mercedes C63 AMG will bring a touch of glamour to Kyalami's Grand Prix Circuit this weekend.
Cerruti will be one of the drivers competing in the final round of the International Supstars V8 series, to held, as it was last year, in South Africa.
Beyond the V8 Superstars it will be a bumper end of season race meeting at Kyalami, with the Bridgestone Production Cars, WesBank V8 Supercars, Engen Volkswagen Cup, Formula Volkswagen and Interfile Supersport and Superbike championships all coming to a conclusion on Saturday.
The 23-year old Cerruti who hails from Milan (but was born in Rome) is the sole woman competing in the Superstars V8 series.
WITH DAD AT VALLELUNGA
Michela is the daughter of former Italian sports car driver Aldo Cerruti, who captured the Italian Renault 5 Cup championship in the 1970s.
Last year father and daughter shared a heavily modified 264kW Fiat 500 Abarth during the Six Hours of Vallelunga endurance race.
For the field of 15 drivers Kyalami will be their 10th stop of the year. The current championship leader is Mercedes-Benz driver Thomas Biagi, with 147 points - 31 points clear of Luigi Ferrara in second place.
Tickets for the weekend’s racing are available at Computicket outlets countrywide or at www.computicket.com and at the Kyalami main entrance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 7am.
