Raffle tickets in support of SA two quad competitors in the 2015 Dakar Rally are selling fast and with only days left to the draw, companies, friends and supporters have challenged each other to see who will top the list with the most tickets.
RIDING FOR A GOOD CAUSE
The raffle is part of the team's fund-raising to help Baragwanath and Saaijman in their quest to conquer the Dakar Rally. Francois van Niekerk is third and Gary Whitehouse, well-known in the SA off-road motorcycle industry as the owner of Dirtbike Fanatics, fourth.
Paul van Niekerk of PC Transport in Ermelo is fifth equal with McGee Yamaha after he purchased his tickets at the Gauteng Off-road Club’s year-end function where Baragwanath walked away with yet another overall victory in the quad category.
Des and Lynne Wentzel, from Wenbro Hire, in Polokwane supported their ‘local’ rider (Baragwanath is from Polokwane) and are sixth on the list.
The draw will take place on December 6 2014 at the Roof of Africa prize-giving in Lesotho. Saaijman, who has competed in various enduro motorcycle events in 2014, will also compete in the upcoming Roof of Africa from Dec 4-6 in Lesotho.
