Casteu trumps Dakar bike champ

STILL A LONG WAY TO GO: Frances' David Casteu may have beaten compatriot Olivier Pain during the Dakar bike stage five but Pain retains his overall lead in the race.

ARICA, Chile - Frances' David Casteu raced his Yamaha to victory, claiming the fifth motorcycling stage of the Dakar - a grueling 136km timed run between Arequipa, Peru and Arica, Chile.
Compatriot Olivier Pain (Yamaha), was second on the stage, 1min09 behind and retained the overall lead.

Italy's Alessandro Bottur (Husqvarna) was third, 3min 25 off the pace.
Pain has an overall lead of 1min15 on Casteu and is 6min07 ahead of defending champion Cyril Despres (KTM), who was fourth in stage five and third overall.
