Heico Sportiv have released their interpretation of what a contemporary Volvo C30 sports-hatch should be at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.
Located just outside Frankfurt, Heico Sportiv has been a renowned tuner of Volvo products since its inception in 1995.
Elaborating on the peculiar beach culture theme of Volvo's 2007 SEMA display, the lurid orange hues present in the Heico C30 design are apparently present to radiate dynamic happiness...
Beyond the PR jargon, the Heico C30 rides 40mm lower than a standard C30 T5, has a neatly adorned set of styling upgrades as well as improved power and braking ability.
Widened fender flares and lower side skirts are painted to match the body for a seamless appearance.
The front features integrated spoiler flaps, three larger air ducts, combined fog and cornering lights and a sport grille emblazoned with Volvo?s iron mark. A deeper and wider rear skirt frames quad stainless-steel exhaust pipes.
Sports suspension lowers the ride height by 40mm whilst aiding handling balance and for added attitude the Heico C30 rides on an outlandish set of 19-inch mags shod with 235/35R19 Continental Sport Contact III tires.
Easily visible through the massive wheels are Ocean-blue painted calipers displaying the Heico Sportiv logo grab onto 326 x 30 mm discs via sport brake pads.
With such a strapping appearance the stock 2.5-litre, 162kW five-cylinder would just not suffice. The turbocharger and intercooler have been modified while breathing is improved via a Heico sport air filter, with everything controlled by an enhanced ECU unit.
The sum total of all these engine upgrades is 223kW at 5500r/min and 419Nm at 3500r/min heralding a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.4 seconds.
The Heico Sportiv C30 interior is a match for the elaborate exterior styling treatment, as would be expected. The bespoke high-quality sport bucket seats emblazoned with the Heico Sportiv logos are swathed in rich orange leather with matching orange stitching.
Orange leather also covers the split-folding rear seats, door panels, steering wheel, floor console armrest, shift knob and parking brake handle. Meanwhile, the matching shade of orange has been skillfully applied to the dashboard, floor mats and even the seatbelts. It is really a world of orange psychedelic ambiance in there.
The C30's Premium Sound system, standard on the production T5 Version 2.0, features a digital 5x130W ICE Power amplifier from Alpine, Dolby Pro Logic II Surround and 10 loudspeakers from Danish speaker manufacturer Dynaudio.
Total output is an amazing 650 watts. Also included is an auxiliary audio jack for connecting MP3 players and an in-dash CD that can playback MP3 and WMA format music files.
The Heico Sportiv C30 on display at SEMA is allegedly an 'idea car' designed to illustrate the tuning potential of the standard Volvo C30. All parts used in the SEMA show car are available from Heico though, so if you want the ultimate orange Swedish hot hatch, it is yours for the customising.
