VW has confirmed at the Johannesburg International Motor Show that its Scirocco sport coupe is destined for South Africa.
The Scirocco, which is on display at the show, will arrive here in the second quarter of 2009.
It will reportedly be available with three petrol engines and one turbodiesel powertrain.
The three TSI petrol engines kicks out 91 kW, 120 kW and 147 kW. The TDI model develops 104 kW and 320 N.m of torque.
It also comes with VW’s new seven-speed DSG transmission and Adaptive Chassis Control with Normal, Sport and Comfort settings for the steering and suspension.
