Despite its diminutive stature, the all-new Jazz dominates Honda's Johannesburg show stand.
The new-generation model borrows many of the attributes that made its predecessor so popular, including a central fuel tank arrangement and "magic seats" that allow for a very functional, and spacious, interior.
While the new Jazz looks more like a glorified facelift, Honda assures its interior space is improved and a more powerful range of engines is employed.
Power is up on both the 73-kW 1.4-litre and 88-kW 1.5-litre i-VTEC engines and Honda quotes consumption figures of 5.8- and 6.4 litres/100 km for the combined cycle, respectively.
The safety equipment employed has been improved, too, with the introduction of Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure.
A longer wheelbase and wider track, revised suspension and larger wheels also ensure Jazz is more agile.
Wheels24 is at the Johannesburg International Motor Show. Check back regularly for updates and video footage straight from the show floor. The show opens to the public from Saturday November 1.
