JHB Motor Show gears up

The Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) is on schedule for its October 30 opening date, with organisers claiming that "every square metre" of existing exhibition stage at the Expo Centre is already sold out.

“As things stand on June 6 we have just over 250 exhibitors, which is 10 percent more than at this point in 2006,” says Zaida Enver of Kagiso Exhibitions and Events who organises the show.

“One of the reasons for this growth is the inclusion of Asian importers and distributors for the first time and a range of exciting experiential activities , which are just some of the changes we’ve made that will contribute to JIMS being more vibrant and exciting than ever before.”

Furthermore every major player from Auto Africa 2006 has re-signed for this year’s event.

A total of 300 000 visitors are expected to pass through the turnstiles between October 30 and November 9.

JIMS is one of only two shows in the Southern hemisphere to be affiliated with and hold accreditation from the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA).

JIMS is run as a 50/50 joint venture between Kagiso Exhibitions and Events, and the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA).
