#USGP: Lewis Hamilton wins in Texas, Vettel still stands a chance at title

Austin, Texas - Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton managed to extend his championship lead at the Circuit of the Americas, but has to work a little bit harder for hopes of a fourth title at the end of the 2017 season.

This is the fifth win for Hamilton at this track out of six races in the United States.

The win secures Mercedes the 2017 Constructors championship - for the fourth time.

The US Grand Prix started with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel getting an excellent start when the lights went out in Austin on Sunday, but Hamilton managed to retake the lead a few laps in.

The German finished the race in P2 meaning he still has a shot at sweeping the title from Hamilton's grasp in the next three races.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen literally made passed Kimi Raikkonen as Hamilton crossed the finish line stealing P3 from the Iceman.

No doubt Verstappen is voted driver of the day after a superb performance starting in 16th place and ending in P3.

However, in a turn of events, Verstappen had to hand the place back to Kimi due to a 5-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage, thus losing his spot on the podium.

Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas finished the race in P5.

Force India's Esteban Ocon in P6 with Renault's Carlos Sainz' in P7. Sergio Perez takes P8 for Force while Felipe Massa takes 9th from Daniil Kyvat in P10.
