Rosberg tells F1 to 'drop' Hamilton controversy

London - World champion Nico Rosberg says Formula 1 should "drop" the current discussion about team mate Lewis Hamilton's tactics in Abu Dhabi.

Hamilton is being criticised, and Mercedes is reportedly considering sanctioning the Briton, after he deliberately backed Rosberg into chasing rivals on Sunday (November 27).

Understanding the situation

Rosberg told BBC radio that he can "understand" why the team is upset.

Rosberg said: "But at the same time, it's easy to understand his perspective. It's about the world championship so you can understand that he wanted to try whatever it was possible to do.

"We can just drop the whole discussion. There's no point discussing this topic any more. It's done and it's in the past."
