Michael Schumacher still holds a record at the French GP

The French Grand Prix, one of the oldest motor races in the world, returns to the Formula 1 calendar this weekend after 10 years. 

Michael Schumacher's former Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa was the last winner of the French GP in 2008 when it was raced at Magny-Cours circuit, this weekend's race takes place at Paul Ricard close to Marseille. 

Interestingly, Schumacher, the most successful F1 driver in history, holds the record for the most French GP wins (8). The ex Ferrari and Mercedes driver won last at Magny-Cours in 2006.

The 49-year-old German, who suffered a head injury during a skiing accident in the French Alps more than four years ago has two more wins that French racer Alain Prost who won the race six times.
