Hamilton extends F1 championship lead after German GP win

Hockenheim - Lewis Hamilton has won the home race for his team in Germany with a fantastic start, all the way through the German Grand Prix on Sunday.

He extends his championship lead over team mate Nico Rosberg by 19 points.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo came in second  - in his 100th grand prix race - with team mate Max Verstappen in third. It's the first time the team has been on podium together this year.

3rd in Germany

A disappointed Rosberg came finished in fourth place.

Hamilton captured his 49th career win on Sunday in Hockenheim, his sixth of the year, and a clean sweep for July. It was his third win in Germany.

McLaren's Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso both scored some points for their team as well as they came in under the top 10.
