Cape Town - The first of two pre-season tests for the upcoming F1 season is done and dusted but apart from Ferrari's surprising pace it was the design of the 2017 race cars that sparked many a conversation.
Faster, grippier cars
The new regulations allows for cars to be faster, grippier and a lot more aerodynamic. The look of the cars have divided opinions amongst fans and critics, but it ultimately serves a purpose in the grander scheme of things.
The head honchos running F1 wanted the 2017 season to be a lot more exciting than what's been the case the past few years (especially with Mercedes winning 51 of the last 59 races...).

Following the first of two tests, this year's cars are already faster than last year's ones and teams are steadily building towards making it up to five seconds faster than what they were at the end of 2016.
