BelgianGP: Hamilton fights for victory at Spa-Francorchamps

Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium - Lewis Hamilton had to work hard for his win today at the Belgian GP with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel right on his tail. The win marked his 200th race of his career.

The German was pushing the race leader since the lights turned green and managed to fight to keep Hamilton's pace.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo was third with Kimi Raikkonen in P4 for Ferrari.

Hamilton's team mate Valtteri Bottas was fifth for Mercedes and Nico Hulkenburg in P6. Haas' Romain Grosjean was in P7.

P8 went to Felipe Massa, followed by Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz.

Vettel who is now on 220 points leads Hamilton by 7 points with the Brit on 213 points.

Force India's race drivers almost took each other out when Ocon and Sergio Perez clashed on a corner. Perez was told to box his car on the 43rd lap.

Max Verstappen had another heartbreaking DNF with mechanical failure, making it his 6th retirement in 12 races of which 4 was due to mechanical issues.

Another disappointing race for McLaren's Fernando Alonso who tried his utter best only to have the cars he passed overtake in the following laps. He reported power loss from the engine, and eventually retired.
