Red Bull driver Mark Webber is confident he'll get equal treatment from the team next season despite team mate Sebastian Vettel having won the 2010 Formula 1 Drivers' title.
The re-legalisation of team orders and Vettel's World title had led to speculation that Webber would be forced into a supporting role in 2011 but the Australian said he expected to be given a chance to win the 2011 championship.
"The team knows the best way to defend a championship is to put both feet forward in the best possible way," Webber said at a promotional appearance in Thailand. "That's why we achieved so much as a team."
'ABSOLUTELY CONFIDENT'
Vettel and Webber had some clashes in 2010, most notably when they collided during the Turkish GP and ended Vettel's race. Despite some team frictionas a result, Webber had every intention of taking on Vettel again in 2011.
"I'm absoloutely confident that 2011 will be a great opportunity for me to get phenomenal results again," Webber said. "I will need to beat everybody, and one of those drivers is going to be Seb.
"Full credit to Seb to have No.1 on his car but, come first practice in Bahrain, that won't make him go any faster."
Webber drove one of the team's F1 cars on Saturday (Dec 18) on the streets of Bangkok - the original home of the Krating Daeng energy drink brand that became Red Bull around the world.
