Michael Schumacher has been angered by rumours that he will retire again at the end of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm slammed Italian website Corriere dello Sport for allegedly fabricating quotes that the Formula 1 veteran would quit.
"These (were) words reported on our website and our editorial staff didn't know anything about it. When we noticed that news, we invited the website to remove it, which was done," said a Corriere dello Sport editor.
As to whether Schumacher would quit at the end of 2011, he stated that he would be racing during the 2012 championship and beyond.
"I'll certainly be racing next year, that is definite."
'HE SHOULD GO'
Former Formula 1 driver Niki Lauda thinks Schumacher should quit... again.
"I've said that if Schumacher cannot make it work by the end of 2011 he should go, and I stand by it," Lauda told the Osterreich newspaper.
Schumacher hinted that he could stay in Formula 1 beyond his 2012 contract stating: "We will have to see how things develop and how much energy and fun is still there."
Willi Weber, Schumacher's former manager, is sure the Mercedes ace is not about to give up. "He has started something and he will also see it to the end," Weber told Die Welt.
Mercedes' competition director Norbert Haug insists that Schumacher is still competitive: "His speed in the last race was mostly on par with Nico Rosberg. He will continue and succeed."
