BERLIN, Germany - Formula 1 team Red Bull will replace Mark Webber with Daniel Ricciardo in 2014. The rookie will race alongside three-times World Champion Sebastian Vettel, according to a report by Sport Bild.
The report said Red Bull would announce Ricciardo, currently a driver for sister team Toro Rosso, as Webber's successor at the 2013 Belgian F1 GP at Spa on August 25. Webber will retire from F1 at the end of the 2013 season.
'WE WON'T SAY ANYTHING'
Kimi Raikkonen and even Vettel's long-time rival Fernando Alonso have been linked to the Red Bull vacancy.
Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko told Sport Bild: "We won't say anything before Spa, that's all I can say."
Ricciardo has been sponsored by Red Bull since 2008. He started driving for Toro Rosso in 2012, scoring 21 points from 41 races.
Vettel is leading the F1 Drivers' championship table with 172 points. Raikkonen is second on 134 with 10 races gone in the 2013 season.
