BERLIN, Germany - Formula 1 will experience a record year in 2012 with 20 races, one of them on a new circuit.

Austin, the capital city of Texas in the US, will join the list of F1 venues in November, 20121, and host the first US GP in five years at its 5.5km Circuit of the Americas; 56 laps totalling 308km.

MONACO CLASSIC

The longest circuit of the season will be in Malaysia where the cars will pass the chequered flag after 310km. The fewest laps will be raced at Spa-Francorchamps - 44 on the legendary seven-kilometre Belgian road.

The classic Monte Carlo city circuit has both the shortest lap of the year (3.3km) and the shortest distance (260km) with 78 trips around the heart of the Principality of Monaco , the most laps in a 2012 GP 2012.
