LONDON, England - French driver Charles Pic will not race for Caterham during the 2014 Formula 1 season, team principal Cyril Abiteboul has asserted.
Abiteboul told France's Infosport: "Charles, unfortunately, will not be with us for the 2014 season. It's a pity the adventure between Caterham and Charles is ending."
DRIVERS TO BE NAMED
Caterham, the only team yet to confirm drivers for the season that will start in Australia in March are expected to announce the line-up on Tuesday (Jan 21).
Japan's Kamui Kobayashi, who left Sauber at the end of 2012 after finishing third in his home GP at Suzuka, has been tipped to join the team that is owned by AirAsia airline boss Tony Fernandes. Kobayashi will be joined by rookie Marcus Ericsson.
Pic, 23, made his F1 debut with Marussia in 2012 before moving to Caterham in 2013. The team ended up last overall, behind Marussia, with zero points.
