LONDON, England - Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff believes his team can be confident going into the 2014 Formula 1 season... but was anxious not to create premature euphoria.
"We've had a good test (Bahrain the previous week) but that is no reason to celebrate," he warned ahead of the third and final pre-season test on the same track. "We can be cautiously optimistic."
MERC ALSO STOPPED
That test will also be in Bahrain; after the two completed tests of 2014 Mercedes has driven more laps than any other team.while rival Red Bull struggled with technical problems.
Wolff did, however, point out that after longer track runs in Bahrain the Mercedes test car also stopped repeatedly.
The final four-day test in Bahrain will start on Thursday (Feb 27), the first GP of 2014 will be in Melbourne on March 16.
