FERDIE TOLD TO CLOSE HIS BEAK: Ever-grumbling Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has been told by his team boss to knock it off with the anti-team tweets on his personal Twitter account. Image: AFP

MARANELLO, Italy - Fernando Alonso has been banned from tweeting about the team that  pays his wages.

The Spaniard had his ear "tweaked" by Ferrari team president Luca di Montezemolo earlier this year after making a series of disparaging remarks about the development of Ferrari's 2013 car on his personal Twitter account.

FERRARI'S WORDS ONLY

"We will prohibit him from Twitter," Montezemolo reportedly said during his interview with Italian television Rai Uno this week.

"Although Alonso, like anyone else, can write on Twitter what he wants, everything concerning Ferrari will be communicated by Ferrari."
