17:55 Track temperature is 37'C, air is 31'C, and it is five minutes to FP3.
17:50 News just in is that Pirelli have reduced the tyre pressure by 1psi. That may not sound like much but around this circuit with these temperatures it could really make a difference.
17:44 It wasn't such a good night for Romain Grosjean, who had several complaints about his Haas and its updates. So much so that he could revert to the old set-up and parts for this session.
17:37 Instead it was Mercedes' rivals who shone with Red Bull claiming the 1-2 in FP1 while Kimi Raikkonen was second fastest for Ferrari in the later session. He was 0.275s down on Rosberg while Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel were next in line. Nico Hulkenberg was sixth for Force India.
17:34 Friday's practice ended with a P1 for Mercedes as Nico Rosberg topped the timesheets but it wasn't a great night for the Brackley squad. Rosberg was one of several drivers to tag the barriers, only his incident left him without a front wing, while late in FP2 he also complained of a brake problem. As for Lewis Hamilton, his FP2 ended early because of a small hydraulic issue that limited his running to just 10 laps. He was P7.

21:20 Over at Haas, Romain Grosjean's session ended early as he could only muster just two laps before reporting a problem, the team decided to end his FP1 after that.
21:16 Another development from FP1 worth noting is that Lewis Hamilton trialed the Halo for the first time during the session.
21:15 The duration of the second session will take place over 90 minutes. Teams will be using this time to gain as much data as possible ahead of Sunday's race, with qualy in mind for Saturday.
21:13 BREAKING: It has been reported that only Verstappen has the updated Renault engine, while the others running the French manufacturers engine are on the old specs.
21:10 Toro Rosso duo Carlos Sainz Jr and Daniil Kvyat also impressed during FP1 as they finished P7 and P8 respectively.

19:17 Rosberg in the wall! He got it wrong at Turn 18 and went nose first into the wall. His W07 is still running but it missing the front wing.
19:16 It is a 1:47.2 for Raikkonen who only moves up to seventh place, splitting the Toro Rosso drivers.
19:15 As more drivers head out, Raikkonen does so on new ultras. Everyone else is running used tyres.
19:14 Over at McLaren, Alonso is P11 and Button P16. The latter is still not having a great time and reports: "Second and third gear feel very poor on the throttle."
19:12 Verstappen and Ricciardo both venture back out on used ultras.
19:11 A ragged lap for Wehrlein as he fights his Manor around the circuit. He is P19 to Ocon's P21.
19:09 Hamilton is back out on track, running used soft tyres.
19:07 Perez is told to box to "save the tyres for the long run."
19:04 A problem for Hamilton as he is back in the pits and reporting that it is "very hot" down by his left ankle.
19:02 Verstappen retakes P1 by 0.049s over his team-mate.
19:01 Toro Rosso are showing good pace this evening as Sainz goes P6 to Kvyat's P7.
19:00 Although Hamilton and Rosberg are on the soft tyres they are just 0.55 and 0.64s off Ricciardo's pace.
18:57 Verstappen hits the front with a 1:46.229 and Ricciardo responds with a 1:45.872! Kvyat goes sixth.
18:55 Verstappen heads out on new ultras, Ricciardo as well.
18:54 Vettel puts in a good lap to slide into P1. It is a 1:46.287 for the Ferrari driver.
18:50 Card game for Grosjean (literally), a 1:48.3 for Alonso despite clipping the wall, and Hamilton and Vettel are out on track on softs and ultras respectively.
18:47 Magnussen heads out as Ricciardo grabs a snack in his car. Don't leave any crumbs!
18:44 Rosberg is still going purple, purple and it is a 1:46.513 for the Mercedes driver.
18:41 Rosberg heads out on the soft tyres, which are actually the hardest compound on offer this weekend.
18:40 Alonso headed out for a third lap but pitted immediately after. Both the Spaniard and Grosjean do not have lap times on the board.
18:38 Bad news over at Haas as Grosjean is out of FP1. Haas tweeted: "Issue with @RGrosjean's car based on low intake pressure. Bodywork off, investigating possible leak. Session over. "
18:37 P1 for Verstappen! A 1:47.335 ses the Red Bull driver move 0.034s up on Hamilton.
18:35 Vettel reports that he brushed the wall out of Turn 20 but that it is "just cosmetics."
18:34 Vettel has improved to a 1:47.375, which is 0.006s down on Hamilton's best. Verstappen is third, 0.098s down.
18:30 Hamilton is back in the pits, Nasr is out on a hot lap and Button is still sitting in his McLaren as his mechanics work on his car.
18:27 Vettel is on a better lap and it yields a 1:47.7, which splits the Mercedes drivers.
18:25 Only Alonso, Grosjean, Nasr and Button have yet to set times this session.
18:22 Vettel slips and slides his way to a P4, 1.7s down on Hamilton.
18:21 Hulkenberg does a 1:50.3 with Halo attached to his Force India.
18:19 A slide from Raikkonen and a clip and a damaged wing for Sainz.
18:16 It is really bumpy out there, perhaps more so than in previous years. You can see Hamilton's head nodding around in his W07.
18:15 A better lap from Hamilton now as he is clearly pushing. It is a 1:47.4 for the World Champ.
18:14 Palmer, Gutierrez and Bottas join the Mercedes drivers out on track. So too do Massa, Ocon, Raikkonen and Wehrlein.
18:13 It is a 1:47.9 for Rosberg and a much slower 2:07 for Hamilton.
18:11 Rosberg starts a timed lap and so too does the Halo-shod Hamilton.
18:09 Hamilton heads out with Halo attached to his car. Rosberg has already taken to the circuit.
18:08 A long push completed and McLaren are happy to have their car, and driver, back.
18:06 Due to Button's proximity to the pits Race Control reports that the marshals are permitted to push him to the pit entrance. He'll be happy with that. Sadly just two chaps pushing him and it it a hot, hard push. More join the push-party and momentum picks up.
18:04 Yikes, problems for Button. He reports "it stopped, we are not going to make it back to the pits I don't think" as he coasts to a halt on the side of the track. Out comes the VSC.
18:03 Next out are Nico Hulkenberg and Pascal Wehrlein so we are just waiting for the Mercedes drivers and Verstappen. And with that Max takes to the track while his team-mate Ricciardo is running massive aero sensors on either side of his RB12.
18:02 Out goes Kimi Raikkonen on a set of ultras of which Ferrari have nine per car. Yip, they maxed out on ultras. Ricciardo heads out, followed by Carlos Sainz, Daniil Kvyat and Sergio Perez.
18:01 Romain Grosjean and Jolyon Palmer head out immediately, followed by Esteban Gutierrez, Alonso with the Halo, Vettel, Marcus Ericsson, Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Nasr. Valtteri Bottas and Jenson Button are also out.
18:00 The lights go green and FP1 is underway with the track temperature a hot 38'C.
17:58 Two drivers are running Halo this evening, Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
17:53 With 23 corners, the Marina Bay circuit has more turns than any other circuit on the calendar.
17:47 Over at Mercedes, just two points separate Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in the standings as the German's seventh win of this season allowed him to once again close the gap. It also raised concerns with Hamilton that starts could decide the title race as he has now only converted three of his seven pole positions into race wins.
17:42 Many are billing Red Bull, who claimed pole position in Monaco and should have won the race, as the favourites although both Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have downplayed this. Renault have an engine update this weekend which will be another boost for the Red Bull pairing.
17:36 This weekend's grand prix marks the ninth running of the Singapore GP at the Marina Bay circuit, a race that has been dominated by Sebastian Vettel. The Ferrari driver has the grand prix on four occasions and is the defending champ. Ferrari, though, have a fight on their hands to put in a repeat performance this weekend.
17:30 Welcome to the Marina Bay street circuit, home of the Singapore Grand Prix and Formula 1's first night race. All times are local.
