Shanghai - Finland's Kimi Raikkonen won the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday in a Ferrari after world championship leader Lewis Hamilton retired with 25 laps to go.
Spain's Fernando Alonso was second in a McLaren Mercedes-Benz and Brazil's Felipe Massa, driving a Ferrari, came third.
In wet conditions and on a slippery track, Raikkonen earned his fifth win of the season in the 56-lap race, making the most of Hamilton sliding into the gravel going into the pit lane with his tyres bare of grip.
It also handed Ferrari their 200th Grand Prix victory.
Hamilton's retirement denied him the chance to win the world championships here, which now goes down to the wire at the final race of the season in Brazil on October 21.
The 22-year-old, who was second at the time, needed to win or finish ahead of McLaren teammate Alonso to claim the crown and become the youngest champion in history and the first to achieve the feat in his rookie season.
