Milan - Force India's technical head James Key has left to take on a similar role at fellow F1 team Sauber in April.

"There is significant potential at Sauber, and with the ever-changing world of F1 I think the team is very well placed at present," Key, who will replace Willy Rampf, said in a Sauber statement on Wednesday.

Force India said in a statement that Key would be replaced by design director Mark Smith.
