LONDON, England - Red Bull team principal Christian Horner's contract has been extended ahead of the 2013 season in which the Formula 1 champion team will chase a fourth consecutive title.

A team spokesperson said the 39-year-old Briton had agreed to a multi-year extension.

FROM THE START

Horner has been at the helm of Red Bull since the Austrian energy drink company entered the sport in 2005 after taking over the Jaguar team.

Red Bull and Germany's Sebastian Vettel, the youngest triple World champion at the age of 25, have won both the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles for the past three years.

The UK-based team will show its 2013 car at the factory on Jan 3 before testing starts at the Jerez circuit in Spain two days later.
