LONDON, England - Lewis Hamilton has sent a warning to rivals: he intends to "dominate even more" through the 2015 Formula 1 season than he did in 2014.
Hamilton and team mate Nico Rosberg dominated the 2014 season and team’s new W06 car has showed itself to be unbeatable in winter testing.
Hamilton, a nominee for the Laureus World Sportsman award, told the Laureus website: "It's an evolution. The cars are going to be evolutions of 2014's car so it'll be the same people we were racing with before."
‘I WANT TO BE BETTER’
He said 2014 was arguably "the best year" of his eight-year F1 career but added "we want to be better in 2015, we want to try to dominate even more".
Hamilton added: "I feel good about 2015. Well, you know what, to be honest, at this point of the year, you don't really know how you feel.
"I feel fresh, I feel fit. I plan to drive as well as I did last year, but I want to be better."
That doesn't mean he doesn't want a fight: he wanted Red Bull and Williams to be strong again but also hoped McLaren and Ferrari would improve "so that we have more people to race".
He said: "Yes, the more people the merrier. Most importantly, if the cars are close you can have real races where you're overtaking and battling and that's what I love doing."Stay with Wheels24 for the 2015 F1 season – fresh reports every day.
