FIA reveals F1's new doctor

THE DOCTOR IS IN: The FIA have selected Doctor Ian Roberts as F1 doctor for the 2013 F1 season. He replaces Gary Hartstein (right) who succeeded the late Prof. Sid Watkins (left).

The FIA has finally named a successor for F1's departed doctor Gary Hartstein, Silverstone's Dr Ian Roberts.

We reported in January 2013 that Hartstein's contract was not renewed for 2013 and that sport's governing had picked a successor.

Roberts, is a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care best known as the chief medical officer of the British Grand Prix venue Silverstone.
