F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that the 2012 F1 calendar could expand beyond 20 races.
The 2012 schedule has 21 races bbut FIA president Jean Todt said the number could drop to 20.
The schedule released at the 2011 Hungarian GP showed 20 races with the Turkish Grand Prix dropped.
Teams, fearing staff burnout, were reportedly keen on the calendar remaining at 20 races.
TEAMS COULD AGREE
Williams chairman Adam Parr told Reuters that the schedule "can increase a little bit" in conjunction with a change to the event format. Ecclestone suggested teams could agree to an extra race in 2012.
"We could have 21 races," Ecclestone told the Daily Express. "If we say we have to get rid of Monaco, they would say we would rather not," he added.
