Change of wind for Ferrari F1

MARANELLO, Italy - Ferrari will develop the aerodynamics of its 2013 car exclusively in Cologne, Germany

The F1 team's wind-tunnel at the factory in Maranello, Italy, has problems and will be closed until August, 2013.

International reports, including in El Mundo Deportivo (Spain) and Kolner Express (Germany), said Ferrari had turned its attention to Cologne, where the former Toyota F1 team Toyota rents out its state-of-the-art facility to clients.

EXCLUSIVELY TOYOTA

Asked why Ferrari chose Cologne, team boss Stefano Domenicali said: "Because working in two wind-tunnels would be too risky."

Team president Luca di Montezemolo added: "We will develop the 2013 car exclusively in the Toyota wind-tunnel to avoid confusion and mistakes."

McLaren is apparently also a regular customer at the Toyota facility.

Toyota Motorsport's Rob Leupen commented: "Our clients are very happy with our wind tunnel services."
