Ayrton's ghost watching Bruno

Sao Paulo, Brazil - Bruno Senna prepared for his first Brazilian GP on Thursday with the shadow of his late uncle and Formula 1 triple champion Ayrton still casting a presence over his home circuit.

A Brazilian preview showing of the Universal Studios picture 'Senna', including hitherto unseen archive footage, was held in Sao Paulo on Wednesday night with HRT driver Bruno in the audience.

"I watched it for the first time last night," he said, "The movie's awesome. It reminded me of so many things that just got dulled by time."

Bruno was 11 Senna was killed at Imola in 1994. He said on Thursday: "It's very special for me. I think for anyone who's a racing driver it's going to be quite special. For people who didn't know Ayrton, they will have a pretty good image of what he was all about.

"It's not a movie about racing, it's a movie about the life of Ayrton, the implications of what he did in his life. It feels very special and definitely brought back many memories, good memories and some sad memories."

'HE WAS THE MAN'

Young Senna, whose struggling team has yet to score a point, recalled his first memories of Interlagos in 1993 when he came to watch Ayrton race. It was his first experience of single-seater racing.

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello, who entered F1 in 1993 as a close friend and protege of Senna, also paid tribute to the late champion, who is buried in the nearby Morumbi cemetery.

"He was the man," Barrichello said.
