Alonso furious with Ferrari

NEW DELHI, India - Fernando Alonso nearly lost his temper at the 2012 Indian F1 GP when Ferrari's technical boss Pat Fry blamed the team's drivers for sub-standard qualifying times.

He was was furious about Fry's claim.

Fry said after the qualifying round in New Delhi: "The result reflects our current potential but to be where we wanted and where we were capable of being, we needed to be perfect today (October 27) and we weren't."

'WENT INTO A RAGE'

Alonso moaned that the F2012 cars have not substantially improved for several races. According to LA Stampa newspaper, the Ferrari ace reportedly "went into a rage" after hearing Fry's post-qualifying comments.

"(Stefano) Domenicali tried to calm him down.. but the discussion continued until 1am."

Alonso drafted a Twitter post which read: "I want my 1.2-million followers to know that the key aerodynamic components at the rear of the Ferrari are still the same as they were in May."

According to Domenicali: "It took a lot of persuading for Alonso not to press the submit button."

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo added: "Alonso is right to push the engineers."

SPIRIT INTACT

Felipe Massa said that his F2012 car was not in the same specification as Alonso Formula 1 car at the Indian GP. "I had half as much as him and even more will arrive in Abu Dhabi."

In the wake of the reported Twitter affair, Alonso told his followers that his fighting spirit was intact for the remaining three 2012 races. "If the sword breaks, fight with your hands. If they cut your hands, push the enemy with your shoulders, even your teeth."
