BUDAPEST, Hungary - Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton again showed his speed Friday (July 24) to post the fastest time during the second practice session ahead of the 2015 Hungarian GP.
Daniel Ricciardo's promising session for Red Bull ended with engine trouble, however.
In a largely encouraging afternoon for Red Bull, Daniil Kvyat posted the second quickest time ahead of Ricciardo, who went off the track with smoke billowing from his car with about 20mins remaining, bringing out the red flag for the third time of the day. Four-time champion Sebastian Vettel was seventh.
FORCE INDIA SITS OUT SESSION
The red flag was deployed twice during the first session; Force India's Sergio Perez emerged unscathed from a crash and veteran Kimi Raikkonen lost his Ferrari front wing.
As it happened: 2015 Hungarian GP - second practice
Perez and Force India team mate Nico Hulkenberg skipped the second practice session as the team investigated the cause of the early morning crash.
Perez suffered a rear suspension failure during FP1, causing the car to spear into the wall and flip over its front-right tire before coming to rest on its roll bar.
