It is time for Wheels24's annual Alternative Car of the Year (ACOTY) competition where readers get to vote for the gayest and straightest new cars of the year. And this year we're introducing a third category, where you choose the corrupt politician's car of the year!

The Wheels24 editorial team identified five cars per category and only vehicles that were launched in 2007 are eligible.

The online voting starts on Monday, November 19, and will continue until December 7.

    Prizes

Last year's competition saw 16 000 voters casting their votes on the online poll. The pert Peugeot 207 took the honours as the gayest car of the year, while Audi RS4 walked tall as the straightest car.

This year, voters stand a chance of winning a number of interesting prizes including the main prize of an eZee Torq advanced electric bicycle worth about R14 000. The runners-up will win four Garmin Nuvi 200W Global Positioning Systems (GPS) units worth R3 600 each.

The eZee Torq bike is an advanced electric bicycle and it is the top of the range model with a maximum speed of 35km/h and a range of up to 50 km per charge. This bike is a must-have this summer. For more info about eZee products visit www.ezeebike.co.za.
