Max sex case: Court whips tabloid

24/07/2008 12:27

Motor racing chief Max Mosley won a landmark case in Britain's high court on Thursday when a judge ruled his privacy was violated by a tabloid newspaper that exposed his part in sado-masochistic orgies.

Mosley, president of Formula One's governing body and son of Britain's 1930s Fascist leader Oswald Mosley, did not deny taking part in the German-themed sex sessions with prostitutes, but said his privacy was violated by the reporting on it.

Justice David Eady sided with the arguments put forward by Mosley's legal team, saying The News of the World Sunday newspaper was not justified in publishing the story despite Mosley's international public profile.

The judge awarded Mosley £60 000 in damages.

Well done Max, just a question: How many politicians do we know of who have extra-marital affairs, have gone to stripclubs (on tax payers moneys for certain...). But hey, do we get the local media 'breaking' these stories. Wonderful world we live in!

Rather foolhardy behaviour from a supposedly mature man. But I defend their rights as consenting adults. 60 000 quid is not enough and so they will again trash someone's life in the knowledge that the rewards will again outway the price.

Weird comment, Vinni. The SA company Barloworld just ended their sponsorship of the Barloworld Tour de France cycling team because of 1 rider being caught doping. It's the negative connection to their name that they don't like. Same with F1 and Max. As pres. of FIA, you're in the limelight, can't do what you want and think it won't affect negatively on the rest of the sport. Even in private time. He should've known better, he brought the sport into disrepute.

Bravo Max, I wish he'd sue the pants off the this paper and put them out of business, these people have no respect for anyone. Besides you gotta respect a man of that age who still has the libido to accommodate 5 women at the same time
