An apology

Although no names were mentioned, Mr Peter Wise, a consultant to Sasol, feels those associated with motor sport will be able to identify him, and he also states that, contrary to what I was led to believe, he had no personal involvement in the decisions made by Sasol, Total, and Motorsport SA.

I am sorry that I mistakenly involved Mr Wise in this matter, and hereby apologise for any remarks that he may have found hurtful or offensive.

I have also deleted the relevant paragraphs from the column.
