MILAN, Italy - Tyre-maker Pirelli will take part in celebrations in Rome for the 110th anniversary of Harley-Davidson over June 13-16.
The company, along with LowRide magazine, has product workshops and demo rides of Harley-Davidsons fitted with Night Dragon tyres planned for the event at the Rome Nautical Club at Lido di Ostia (Ostia Beach).
Highlights will include tattooed tyres dedicated to the host city of Rome, the presentation of the articles of the Pzero summer collection, and a Formula 1 simulator among the other activities are in store for the four days devoted to the Milwaukee custom bikes.
Pirelli's experts and engineers will share their know-how workshops to emphasise the importance of tyres on custom motorcycles, with demo rides thereafter.
The Night Dragons tyres have been specially designed for the custom touring segment; according to Pirelli, “made to meet the needs of owners of motorcycles, in particular Harley-Davidsons, who require tyres that improve the grip and stability on the straight without penalising handling or the high mileage expected by users of custom bikes.”
FANCY A TAT?
The Rome Nautical Club will serve as the Pirelli Clubhouse and tattooing sessions on the tyres depicting images and subjects devoted to the host city of Rome.
The new (northern) summer collection of Pzero clothing will also be on show and, for those who want to try the thrills of driving a racing car, the F1 simulator can be used to challenge friends on World championship circuits or to make the fastest tyre change.
Riders can buy and fit discounted Night Dragon tyres. This will be possible at the Ride Passion store Donati Gomme at 81 Borgo Vittorio at the gates of Vatican City where some of the activities planned by Harley-Davidson will take place.
