PHILLIP ISLAND, Australia - Casey Stoner was fastest in the first MotoGP practice session on Friday, October 26, 2012 ahead of Sunday's Australian GP. It's the 27-year-old Australian's final home race before he retires at the end of the season.
Aiming for his sixth successive win at Phillip Island, the Honda rider's time of 1min30.374 after a 45-minute rain delay on the 4.445km circuit was better than World championship contenders Jorge Lorenzo (1min1.279) and Dani Pedrosa (1min31.533).
