BMW's R1200 GS (293 units) and R 1200 GS Adventure (240) are the UK’s best-selling motorycles so far in 2012.Strong sales across the range have seen BMW’s market share of motorcycles larger than 125cc increase from 13.5 to 14.8% in the first three months of the year. New BMW registrations increased by 6.1%. The success of the Boxer-engined R1200 GS variants has been shared across the entire GS range; every model sold more in the 2012 first quarter than the same period in 2011 in the UKDOMINATING IN SALESThe popularity of the GS, updated in 2012 with special-edition models and the G650 GS Sertao, has ensured BMW remains dominant in the adventure-sports sector there.Adrian Roderick, BMW UK's general manager, said: “The first quarter has been very positive for us and for motorcycling in general. New registrations are up 3.6%, BMW Motorrad’s by an encouraging 6.1%."The BMW R1200 RT was the best-selling touring motorcycle, the six-cylinder K1600 GT and GTL second and third.
