Gibernau's first taste of Ducati

Gibernau completed 32 laps on the new Ducati Desmosedici and managed to improve on each lap.
"Coming to Ducati was a difficult choice to make, but it is a great source of motivation for me," said Gibernau.
"The team is fired up and really wants to do well."
"The first time is always difficult, but I get on well with all the guys. I knew everything was going to be different."
"The engine, tubular steel frame, Bridgestone tyres, and Ohlins suspension is all strange to me. The feeling on the bike is completely different."
It is clear that Gibernau would have to change his style a bit and a lot of testing still needs to be done to get the bike to work for him.
Meanwhile, Loris Capirossi is still recovering from a chest injury sustained during the first free practice session in Australia.
This didn't stop him from getting on the bike to test the new engine braking system that has been in development throughout the previous season.
"The system has improved immensely from the start of the year, but the track was very wet so we didn't get all the data that we needed," said Capirossi.
The Ducati Team would have to wait for Jerez at the end of November to complete their testing and to get their first taste of the Desmosedici GP6.
