Yamaha showed its 2013 model year bikes to local media at the Tuning Fork headquarters, World of Yamaha, in Johannesburg on February 19.
There were no new-from-the-ground-up bikes in the range but several existing models have received upgrades for the current model year.

The venerable FJR1300, Yamaha’s entry in the touring category since 2001, has received extensive updates for 2013: fresh and aggressive new bodywork, an uprated engine benefiting from the Yamaha’s latest electronic control technology, and a refined sports chassis.
We will take a closer look at these changes when we review several of the 2013 bikes during the course of the year.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Also on the receiving end of the 2013 updates is the Star Raider XV1900, Yamaha’s Harley-like super cruiser. The huge torque on the big V-twin mill is rather impressive.
Commuters have not been forgotten - Yamaha showed the T-Max 530, the semi-automatic entry-level Crypton 110, as well as the cute little BWS100, one of the last of the two-stroke scooters.
The Bee Wizz is no longer manufactured, and the current batch is the last there will be. If you want one of the feisty, sporty scooters, head over to your local Yamaha dealer before it's too late.
