NC700S naked completes Honda trio

In the same vein as Honda’s edgy-styled NC700X model, the company’s new NC700S naked model also shares its platform, layout, underseat-storage and engine with the recently launched Integra. It also rides on the same 17" wheels as the maxi scooter.

The new range of Honda’s 670cc parallel-twin models follow a unique approach in the motorcycling world by relying on the same platform and power train.

In car manufacturing, it is standard practice to create one strong platform, and then to build several derivatives on it, but this is the first time we've seen a similar approach for two-wheelers.

RADICAL DESIGN: The NC700 — available in both quasi-adventure touring X guise and as well as the naked S model, looks far more traditional than the DN-01 but is still stunning compared to other models from the Japanese automaker.

Although we haven’t seen most of the new model’s exact technical specifications, we don’t expect it to be especially speedy given its 38kW peak power and maximum torque of 62Nm. Where Honda expects the NC700S will excel, however, is on urban roads – especially given its impressive 4.4 litres/100km fuel economy.
